Metro Taxi

lyrics

Wake me up when the rain lets up
I’ll be waiting
Made my tea in a traveling cup
I’m contemplating
Leaving in your taxi
But my credit’s all maxed out
So I’ll weep in the back seat
While the radio twists and shouts

Helped myself to some self help
In the hotel lobby
If I medicate myself
Will you still sell me
Semi hot coffee in the airport lounge
And will you help me get my feet up off the ground?

Time is ticking away
Faster every day
Faster than the counter beside the steering wheel
Could mean disaster
Please tell me its not real

It’s not that I’m afraid to die
I just want this plank out of my eye
Am I afraid of life?
It seems I’m always stuck in traffic
My chronometrophobic ways (the counter’s moving)
Create an exhausted haze (mirror facing)
Outside my window there’s a great big world
I can’t decide though
Looks like a tilt-a-whirl

Time is ticking away
Faster every day
Faster than the counter beside the steering wheel
Could mean disaster
Please tell me its not real

Gotta heat the house
gotta keep the lights on
gotta keep things running right
it’s a danger zone to think about it
and it makes me feel uptight
but I’m alright, I’m OK
just gotta try a little harder
and I know someday I’ll get brave
and finally crank the starter

had some thoughts of a traveling song in a metro taxi
had these thoughts of traveling on in a metro taxi

stuck in a metro taxi
stuck in a metro taxi
stuck in a metro taxi
